Josh Watson

Hard Surface 3D Modeler & Environment Artist

About me

Hi, my name is Josh and I am a hard surface 3D modeler and environment artist. I transitioned my career to 3D design and development after completing 9 years in the Marine Corps; serving overseas and as a distinguished recruiter stateside. I am an upcoming graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design, Spring 2024 in Game Art.

I specialize in realistic hard surface modeling and stylized environment art. I prefer creating weapons, vehicles, and sci-fi or military equipment. I’ve also contributed to level design, set dressing, and lighting. Working on a small team, I am the lead hard surface 3D modeler on “Doomba”, a fun and quirky game that puts you in the shoes (or rather wheels) of a space Roomba tasked with cleaning your mushroom spore invaded space ship, or else…

My time in the Marine Corps helped me foster a stellar work ethic including leadership and project management skills. I am looking to bring that work ethic and my hard surface 3D modeling skills to Military systems development or the games industry.

Scroll down to see my work and enjoy a playable section of “Doomba.”

“Doomba”

A playable slice of Doomba

Enjoy a quirky sci-fi game where you play as “Doomba,” a space Roomba programmed to cleanup after the crew of the SS M4-1D “The Maid”. Your ship has been invaded by a myceloid fungal alien intruder who is after your vessel’s cleaning supplies to spread its own infection. Your job is to cleanup the trail of spores and eradicate the invaders before they take over your ship. Enjoy the hard work put into this game by Rees Jackson, Malachi Franson and me, Josh Watson. And remember, In space, no one can hear you clean!
