Bio

I am a skilled 3D Modeler and Environment Artist looking to bring my talents to the military systems development sector or the games industry. I prefer creating military industrial and sci-fi 3D assets and building stylized environment art for a real world look. I am both internally motivated and self-gratified in my creative process and aim to bring that passion to the workforce.

As a child I learned that creating games was a real job and it has been a goal of mine ever since. I joined the Marine Corps to serve my country and start down the path that would make an education in 3D modeling and game design attainable. After two deployments, many field training orders, and three years as a recruiter, I finished my nine year military career with acceptance into Ringling College of Art and Design.

Using that military work ethic, and knowing that nothing good comes easy, I have worked incredibly hard to hone my techniques as a skilled Hard Surface 3D Modeler and Environment Artist creating many 3D assets, biomes, and a playable video game. Realizing the application for my skills goes far beyond video game design, and being familiar with the necessity for military systems development and production, I’m looking to bring long term application of my skills to a company in either industry.

I am a life long player of all types games and enjoy learning about new design styles and upcoming releases. In my free time I value quality time with my family where I can provide them my attention and support. I’m passionate about being a pillar to those that I care about and look forward to a future where I can provide for them using my creative skills.

Major Projects:

Doomba:

  • 3D artist and materials artist; Created hard surface 3D models in Maya and crafted the materials in the Substance Suite.

  • Start to finish exercise in production pipeline showcasing knowledge and execution from concept to polish. After creating all of the assets I now had a full library of mod kits, bash kits, set dressing items and materials to pull from and render withing the Unreal Engine game space. All of this together contributed to a playable game, start to finish as a demonstration of my abilities in the industry

Survival Island Biome:

  • 3D artist and materials artist; Created hard surface, organic and, character 3D models in Maya and crafted the materials in the Substance Suite.

  • A survival stylized biome crafted form the concepting phase all the way to the end of production. I ended up with a natural African island inspired biome with hard surface elements placed within the biome to make the world have objectives and more visual interest.

Holo-table:

  • Sole creator. Used the Substance Suite to craft the materials and Maya to do the modeling.

  • I created a high fidelity hologram producing table to add to a game as a CenterPoint of interest. Steeped in visual story telling that the player can translate to the unseen, but very much a part of the story elements of the Mycalid invasion. I achieved this through modelling two space ships and overlaying a hologram material to sell the visual story telling aspect of the table.

Carnifex:

  • Sole creator of an adventure game from concept to polish through the game development process. I used Maya to model all of my assets, the Substance suite to achieve all of my materials needs, Unreal Engine to render and use visual programming to create the gameplay loop, and Niagara to produce all of my visual effects.

  • I created a full single level game with objectives, lighting, player and enemy models, dynamic settings, story beats, and visual effects. This game is a playable game from start to finish with a checkpoint system, cut scenes, voice acting and animation.
